November 17 FridayHi Folks,
Just want to wish all of you a wonderful weekend.
I have had a computer crash, lost everything, but am slowly getting things back in working order. (I hope)
May God bless each of you. Please remember those on our Prayer List's and each other.
Hope to be back up soon. August 09 Wed.Evening Folks,
I hope you've all had a great day. I did, kinda missing Jacob though, he went home Tuesday evening. Sure got used to having him here. But we finished off a great day by going to Church, I went across town to pick up Brother Jesse, so he would have a way to church. We had a good service, even though Bro. Loy was gone to State Association Meeting, Bro. Calvin did a great job of carrying on with the service. My Punkin(Kassie)came home with us, she's going to stay a couple of days with me, well, tomorrow with me and then Friday she's going to work with Gramma, she love's to get to go to work with her. By the time I got back from taking Bro. Jesse home, she and gramma were already ready for bed and laying down.
Wellll, I can't get on my File Hosting site, hadn't been able to for a couple days now, so I can't change the music. I hope you don't get too tired of the one playing, I'll change it as soon as I can.
Ya'll please remember those on our Prayer List, remember each other, please continue to remember Sister Grace.
May God bless each of you. May 24 Wed. Of My Week"We Shall Inherit" Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. I know, I know, here I am playing this song again. But folks, just listen to it, how can anyone not just love it. I hope you folks had a great day today, it was a hot humid one here, but still a great day. I figure every day, that The Lord gives us, is a great day. I started out this morning going to the Church. Bro Loy had called me yesterday evening, after I got home from Charleston, to let me know one of the Vans had a flat on it. So this morning I called Bro Jim to see if I could borrow his air tank, well, he was already at the church, watering the flowers and had seen the flat, so he went after his tank while I was on the way over there. We aired the tire up and after looking them over, decided to put some new ones on the front and move the ones on the front to the back. Jim drove it over to the tire shop and I followed him, so as to bring him back. But as it turned out, they got right on it, so he decided to just wait on it. I went on to the bank and ran some more errands that I needed to do. Then when I got home, about 10:30, I fixed me up some bacon, eggs and biscuits, sliced up a tomato to eat with it. If you've never tried tomato with eggs, you don't know what you're missing, they were made for each other. After eating and getting my mess cleaned up, I went out and started getting things ready to mow the two lawns, and then guess what, yep, I did mow the two lawns.:O) Boy Howdy! The grass is growing like widfire, since we got the rain and now its warmed up into the nineties, makes that grass go to town. Anyway, I got all that done, looked like a dust man when I got done, with me sweating and the dust flying, it caked on me really good. It being Wed., course we got to go to Church tonight. Ohhh boy folks, we had a wonderful service. Great singing, wonderful testimonies and then Bro Loy gave us a great message, that the Lord had sent us. All in all, just a great Wed. night service. Folks, ya'll please pray for those on our Prayer List's, pray for each other, remember Cassie, my Dad, and folks please remember my friend Dennis, who if you'll remember, has MS, and now his Appendix burst on him, he's in the hospital(still in intensive care unit yesterday evening)at Little Rock, so pray for him and his little wife, Peggy please. May God bless each and every one of you. Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. March 20 We're BackHi Folks, I tried to publish this last night, but a sign kept popping up saying it was out of service. So I had to wait.
This is a song called "The Sandals," done by The Hemphill Family. Listen to the words, this is the story of the soldier that won the Sandals of Jesus on Mount Calvary. We don't know if this happened or not, but it could have. A great message in this song, see if you can find it.
Welllll, as you can see, we're back from our Florida vacation, we had a wonderful time, but I think all of us agreed that getting home was the best part of the whole thing. I want to thank all of you who were keeping us in your prayers, they were answered, we never had one bit of trouble, cept for little Eli, whose allergies caused him to run enough fever and be congestion in his chest, so that they took him to the doctor, but he was fine by the time they got back and we went about enjoying Disney World. All you folks who have never been to the place, that was the third time I've been, it's worth your time and effort to go, at least one time in your life. Especially if you have children, they're what makes it worthwhile. Eli and Kassie had the time of their life, both of them enjoyed it to no end. Eli got to meet and have his picture took, with Spiderman, Kassie got to ride all the rides she wanted to. And Papaw got to be there to see them do it and that made it all worthwhile to me. We missed Church this morning, but we went to a dandy service this evening. I missed four services and I can feel the difference it made, I would hate to know I could never go again, I don't think I could live without hearing Gods Word preached regularly. You folks who don't know Jesus and don't go to Church, don't have any idea what you're missing or if you do know Jesus and don't go to church, folks, folks, folks you're missing soooooo much love and fellowship, so many blessing's of having a church family to love you, who are happy when you're happy, but who are also sad and grieving when you are sad and grieving, who are also there to help you in any way they can, who care enough to pray for you, without being asked to. Welll, I'm gonna quit for today, I'm tired, still worn out from the drive back from FL, I found out I can't drive for untold hours any more. I haven't been to anyone's site yet, will try to start making the rounds tomorrow. Thanks to all who came by while I was away. Ya'll please remember to pray for those on our Prayer List, would you? Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Bible verse of the day: "And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all." --Acts 4:33 January 11 Wed.This is Living Water again doing: "Up Above The World So High"
Hi Folks, I hope ya'll had a wonderful day. It was a beautiful day here, sunshine and around sixty degrees. We had a beautiful church service tonight, no one saved, but the "Altars" were full and thats good. I don't know if there were any Lost one's there tonight. I don't know if ya'll read the comment from my sister Jan or not, she gave me a pretty good build-up too, I certainly appreciate it, but I think its too much. I'm just a simple man. But now let me tell you about the most wonderful Sister in the world. Jan(Janice) is a lady from the word go, all the things she's been through and I'm not gonna attempt to tell about all of them, just in the last few months she's had three back surgeries. Her inner strength is un-beliveable, her faith and trust in God is unshakable and her compassion for others is never-ending. The worlds greatest and sweetest sister, that's my sister Janice. No one could ask for a better one, I love you with an un-ending love Jan. Please remember to pray for those on our Prayer List, pray for each other and I have a special request tonight, help me pray for Angel, she's not on the list as yet, but she needs our prayers greatly, pray that God would strenthen her faith and help her with her problems. May God bless you all. Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
James 5:15-16 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Evening Folks, Hope ya'll had a wonderful day. I'm tired this evening, so I'm just gonna answer this so -called Leigh's, who is actualy Mal, question he left in the comment. I do read the bible for myself, unlike you, whom I'm sure has never read it. Yes I do know it was written by men, but these men were there when it happened and in the case of the New Testament, were with Jesus, when it happened and have written as they were instructed to, by Jesus. It is in no way a cult. And that's IT for you Mal, if you don't want to believe, just go on unbelieving, I'm tired of the MANY MALS and I'm not playing your game any longer. Go talk to your other selfs.
December 31 Sat. The LetterRhonda Vincent doing: "I Feel Closer To Heaven Every Day"
Good Evening Folks, I hope you guys had a wonderful day. Ours ended up great, but started out with a "Scare". This morning was Get a haircut day, for Paula, Jody and I, we are lucky enough to have this nice lady to come to our home and give us a haircut. (Lavonna) She usually comes fairly early in the morning, this morning it was about 8:00 AM, I had gotten my haircut and was taking a shower, to get rid of the hair, I can't stand to have that cut hair on me any longer than I just have to, so thats our normal routine, me first, Jody second, then Paula. Well this morning, I was in the shower, just stepped out and dried off, Lavonna's son, Bailey, knocked on the door, I went out into the Dining Room where they were cutting hair, Lavonna was holding Jody up , in the chair where we sit for haircutting, Paula was on the phone talking to the 911 operator, crying. Lavonna told me that Jody had a seizure or an attack of some kind, twice, he had passed out just for a few seconds, was pale as a sheet and broke out in a clammy sweat. Well right off, I thought "Heart Attack", I asked Jody if his chest was hurting, "No", how about your left arm? "No". But when the parimedic's got here and asked him, he said his chest hurt, BUT, and we made sure the man knew this, Jody is "Downs" and a lot of the time he will tell you what he thinks you want to hear. Anyway they checked him out here, then took him to the emergency room and done farther test's on him, could find nothing, finally came to the conclusion that he had a Syncopy occurence, which is "Fainting", caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure. He seems fine now, on the way home, he said, "I'm sorry I scare you and Dad, when I gave out(which is what he was calling passing out)made his Momma and I start crying all over again. I tell you folks, it scared us. Paula had called Lorne and Ross and was getting her clothes on while I rode in with Jody, they called Bro Loy and it wasn't to long before he was there at the hospital, such a comfort. Welll, ya'll please help us pray for those on our Prayer List. I wish each of you the HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS, may God bless you. Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow. Below is a letter someone sent me and below that is my answer to it.
Hi Larry,
There is something I want to ask you. Its more of a question of what is your opinion on something? I know you will probably say that you cant really judge it and I know I cant either. I just was wondering what your opinion on it was. If you don’t have one or you feel as if you cant really say one way or the other I can understand.
Awhile back I worked in a liquor store (as you may remember) I didn’t really feel too good about it but I worked it for almost two months. I did end up quitting for lots of reasons. But anyway.... In your opinion when someone has a job such as... a stripper, owner of a liquor store, and lets say ummmm....a pro wrestler? Do you feel that its probably not a good thing to do in the Lords eyes? Do you feel he would be sorta sad if someone did that kind of work to make their money. Lets say someone is a pro wrestler and makes a million bucks or more a year but he/she does put some of that money into the Lords work such as charities and doing good deeds for others? Do you think the Lord would still be saddened that they were doing that sort of job to do the good deeds? I am using the pro wrestling as a example because of how they are pretty violent in the ring and millions of children go and watch them perform in person as well on TV. I don’t really feel that its setting a good example for kids or even adults. They tend to cut themselves with razor blades in the ring for showmanship. Part of their act. Do you think its setting a good example for the public? Do you think its right for that industry to make so much money off of that?? Then in turn take that money they use to brainwash kids into thinking it’s a cool and desirable industry to put to good use in the Churches and charities? Do you think its okay to be a stripper to pay your way through college and maybe use some of the money for good use in a church or charity?
I know that only God can answer this totally and completely and is the only one who can judge this but I do have an opinion on it and I was wondering if you had an opinion on it as well?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Hello,
Yes, I do have an opinion on the subject, and this is strictly My opinion. It is NOT a judgment on my part, this is how I feel, this is, would I do it myself? The answer is No, I would not do any of the fore mentioned things. I don't think that God would have us to do any of these things, no matter what our goal might be, sometimes, in fact, lots of times I think, the end results do not justify the means. Being a stripper to pay your way thru college? I don't think the Lord would justify that, I think He would much rather she live her life uneducated and loving Him, use her life to help Him farther His Kingdom; or simply trying her very, very best to live the way He wants us to live.
A liquor store owner, or worker, to me that is like being a Dealer in Drugs, they supply and sell stuff to people, that when used in the wrong way, practically makes the user go out of their minds, they spend their paycheck on it, use it, maybe go home beat up their wife and maybe the children, sometimes, it even gets to the point of killing them(ask Trish, my niece) and the more they use it, the more they want it. No I do not think God wants money made in this way.
Pro wrestlers? I don't know much about them except that they're Fake's. No, I don't think God would approve of what they do either. You know all these children who have taken guns or whatever to school, or anywhere else and go on a killing spree. I think that all this violence they see on TV, at the movies, all these stupid games, you know , Playstation 2, X-box, all those things, they are full of killing's, beatings, why even my little three year old grandson, he likes to hit because that's what Spiderman or Batman does. I think this is where most of the violence is coming from these day's, the children see nothing else on TV or movies. No, I do not think God wants money made in this way, These type of people, In My Opinion, are trying to buy their way into Heaven, if they're giving money to the Lord.
Only if these people have repented what they did, asked for forgiveness and ask Jesus into their hearts and lives, and are trying their very best to be what God wants us to be, to do what God wants us to do, who ask God to guide their thoughts, their words, their action's, and IF they've done that, take my word for it, they won't be living those kind of life's, because they will know that it's wrong.
I'm not saying that Christians don't make mistakes, I know I do, the Bible says that if we say we have no sin, then we make Jesus a liar, because there was ONLY ONE who had NO SIN and He gave His life WILLINGLY, so that we sinner's would have the CHOICE of SALVATION, it IS our choice, no body forces us. It is a pact, a love affair if you will, between us and Jesus, we believe in Him, try to live like He wants us to live, love Him as our Saviour; and He will intercede for us when, after we die, we are brought before God for judgment, He is kinda like our lawyer at a trial, only this lawyer loved us enough to willingly lay down on an old wooden cross and die for us. And now, after I have learned to love Him, I WOULD lay down my life for Him, yeah, I would willingly die for Him, if I had the chance.
I don't know if this answers your question or not, I hope, maybe, it helped, keep in mind that this is My opinion, I am not condemning anybody, for it is not my place to judge, it IS my place, however, to uphold what I believe my Jesus wants me to uphold.
May God bless you; and all your family, you are all in my prayers.
Always,

Good Evening Folks, Hope everyone had a great day. I went to Lorne's again this morning to help again with putting the new flooring down. We got along pretty good, should get done putting the floor down tomorrow, but will still like the trim. Ya'll please remember those on our Prayer List. Below is my answer to some more questions, someone left in a comment.
December 29 Thurs. Peace of MindIIIrd Tyme Out doing: "Rose Of My Heart"
I love this song, I could listen to it over and over, fact is, I do.
Folks, below you will find an answer to a comment someone wrote to me. They said they envied people like me, who had something to believe in and had so much faith. This was my answer to that , in it you will find at least, my partial testimony, it would take me more time than I have to write the full one.
I just thought some of you would like to read it, might even get something out of it.
Hi,
I know you're probably busy as a Beaver, but I want to thank you for your comment. I know where you're coming from, when you say you never went to Church, when you were a child, in my case, my Mom would go when they had church(she was Primitive Baptist, they only had church once a month, normally)my Dad would never go, but he would read the Bible every Sunday, if it was where he could. So as a child, I would go occasionally, but as soon as I got into my teens, I decided if Dad didn't need to go, I didn't either, so about the only time I would be in church was a funeral. But my dad was and is very spiritual and both he and Mom taught us about God, Jesus and the Bible. They were very adamant about living a clean life, neither of them cursed or drank and I didn't even know what drugs were, never heard of them, until I went into the Army during "Nam". I have never heard my Mom and Dad fight, only one time do I remember them even arguing and there probably wasn't twenty words said in that. Sooo, anyway what I'm trying to say is, even though I knew what the basics of being a Christian was and I was what is called a good ole boy, I never drank or did any of that stuff either, although I did smoke for several years, which like to have killed my Mom and Dad, neither of them did that either. But I wasn't "Saved", if I had died back then, I would have went straight to hell, I believe that's why The Good Lord saved me from going to Viet Nam, while I was in the Army, I came down on levy for Nam twice, both times I had just a little bit less time left to serve, than what the length of the tour was, I think God knew that if I went over there, I wouldn't come back, He knew I was lost and I believe He had things for me to do, after I finally came to my senses and accepted Jesus as my Saviour, so He kept me from going over there and dying Lost. It was several years later, after I was married to my Paula, we had our three boys, she and the boys were gone to church and I, of course, hadn't gone with them, although I had a few times, I was watching Jim Robertson preach on television, and I came under conviction, Jesus was working on my heart, it got to the point where I couldn't resist any more, so I knelt right there in the living room floor, crying tears by the bucket full, confessed my sin's and asked Jesus to forgive me my sins and to come into my heart, which He did, after that I went to church with Paula and the boys a few times, but I wasn't getting what I needed from that church, I guess, because instead of growing in the Lord, I started to slip back into my old ways, I quit going to church, I still had my salvation, but I was slippin farther and farther from where Jesus wanted me to be. Years later, my boys were grown and married, they started going to this church where we go now, they started working on me to go visit the church, so I did, the friendliest people, I never shook hands with so many people in my life; and the Pastor(Bro. Loy Counts)wellll, I loved him instantly and in his messages he gave me what I needed in my heart, somehow the Lord was giving him the words I needed to hear and after two or three months of going to church there, I went down and re-dedicated my life to Jesus, that was almost six years ago and I've been growing in Christ ever since, still growing and still have a long way to go, but we all do, so I'm not ashamed of that. I am happier than I've ever been before, I am at peace with the world around me, at peace with my Lord and Saviour, I have even helped lead a couple or three Soul's to the Lord, that is a "Wonder" in itself.
You and your mate can have that peace in your life also. Forget about Religions for right now, for being a Christian is not about religion, it is a One on One relationship with Jesus Christ, that's what you need to strive for.
This is what is known as "The Roman Road To Salvation", if you have a Bible, I prefer the King James version, there are other's that are supposed to be easier to read, but in some cases they change the meaning when they change the wording. Read these passages please, in the order that I give them to you and think about the meaning of each one.
Romans 3:10
Romans 3:23
Romans 5:12
Romans 6:23
Romans 5:8
Romans 10:9-13
When you've read these passages and thought about the meaning of them, read them over and over, until you can know what they're telling us, then pray, admit that you are a sinner, that you're sorry for that, ask for forgiveness and ask that Jesus would come into your heart and life, sincerely and with all humbleness. If you've done this with all truthfulness and meaning, you are Saved. But don't stop there, start living like a Christian should live, people can tell, you will have a new Glow, remember what I told you about myself, find a good Fundamental church, by that, I mean one that teaches The Bible, The Word and nothing else, usually the smaller churches are better, in my opinion, get involved, be Baptized as soon as possible, for Jesus asked us to do this as part of showing our devotion to Him. You will grow as you learn, you will find yourself wondering WHY you waited so long. Keep reading the Bible and I might suggest reading The New Testament first, then going back and reading the Old Testament.
There's no need for you to feel envious of anyone, when you can have the same Peace and Comfort for yourself.
May God Bless you and keep you.
Always,
Larry
PS: After you do this, you might be surprised at changes coming over your mate, for seeing you happier and more at peace will make him wonder and when he wonders enough, you can start working on him very subtly, you never know what can happen, when Jesus is involved.

Evening Folks, Hey! I hope you guy's had a wonderful day today. I did, even though it was a cloudy, cold, windy day. I met Bro Jim at the Church, this morning. Yea! He feels like and is able to get out and work a little bit, we worked for several hours over there, looked to see what we were gonna need, then we went to Lowe's and hunted it all up, got it back to the Church and kind of got lined out, then went to eat a bite of lunch. I got back over there, just a little before one o' clock and Jim was right behind me. We had picked up some non-skid mat's, to put in the floor of the Baptistry, so we put those down, think they're gonna work great. Bro. Loy has been having trouble with some of these big ole boys, when he dips them down into the water, then tries to bring them back up, their feet would slip on the floor, therefore making it hard on him to get them up. So maybe that will help with that problem. Also, we put some Handrails on the wall leading down the steps into the baptistry, on both ends and also a rail running along the top of the tank for people to hold on to, to help themselves back up. That will help Bro. Loy too, after all, he's not as young as he used to be. I just can't tell you, how much I enjoyed working with Jim again, I enjoy him and I enjoy working for the Lord. How could it get any better than that? Only if The Lord came back. I just made it back home a few minutes before ole Jody got home from work, course he went directly to the shower, just like he always does. Then my Paula got home, bringing Sonic with her, for our supper. I want to ask you to remember those on our Prayer List, we have added some to it, pray for each other. You might send up a special one for Sheila, Crystal, April, Mike, Holly and Apple. Also, if you would, please pray for my niece's children, that they would find a christian home. May God bless each and every one of you. Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.

Good Evening Folks, I hope you had a good day, it was beautiful here today, temp. was mild, around sixty I think, sun shining, started out real foggy, but soon cleared out. I went to Wally World this morning to get some Thanksgiving groceries, Boy Howdy! I didn't think I was ever gonna get out of there, I stood in line, trying to check out, I know for something LESS than two hours.(Smile) This post below, I'm going to run, with Jason's permission, I seen it on his site a while ago, it brought tears to my eyes and I knew immediately that I wanted to run it if he would let me. I think this is a prime example of God sending us messages, in this case, through a three year old boy, HE"S letting us know that HE"S still around and still with us. So please read it and just think about these words coming out of a three year old. Thank you Jason for letting me run it. PS: This one article is all I've had time to read on Jason's site, but it was enough for me to put his site in my "Spaces I Like" column. This is a true story.
October 19 Wed."Living Water" doing, "Get In Line Brother" Hi Folks, I hope you've all had a good day. Mine was pretty good. I started my usual way, by checking and dealing with e-mail, then here to check on all you guy's.
After which, I went to the parts store and bought a locking gas cap for one of the Church vans, there's some who think gas has been getting away faster than it ought to, but it will be harder now. I went on by the church and put it on. ThenI went inside and started dubbing a tape of Sunday mornings service, that Bro. Henry had asked me for, while that was copying off, I worked on one of the lavatory's sink stopper, that had quit working. I got that fixed and had plenty of time left, before the tape was done.
When it finally got done, I squared everything away and came on home, dinner time by then, so I put some biscuits in the oven, made me some gravy, bacon in the microwave and sliced a fresh tomato. Boy Howdy! I was fixed up when that all got done, that's what I call DINNER. I could have added a couple of egg's, over easy and made it a little better, but I just wasn't in the mood to fix them.
Afterwards, I practiced on the Mandolin some, checked e-mail and Space's again, first thing I know ole Jody is home from work, then in a little while, my Paula was home.
Church tonight, Bro. Jess called and asked if he could get a ride to and from church, absolutly, I told him, so I picked him up and we went to church. Bro. Jess is a joy to be around, 85 years old, still plays guitar and mandolin and sing's, both in the choir and takes his turn singing specials. He has been in and around the music business, for a big part of his life, rubbed elbows with a lot of the stars of country and bluegrass music, back in the old days. Now he dedicates his life and talents to the Lord. We had a really good service tonight, Bro. Loy delivered the message that the Lord sent, in a great way, makes it interesting, where you can get something out of it.
Gonna quit, but not before asking you again, to help us Pray for those on our Prayer List. And want to ask for special prayer for Susan, who has Breast Cancer and for Penny and Peggy, sisters, they think Peggy might have Breast Cancer, but haven't gotten results of biopsy as yet. Penny is greatly disturbed and upset about sister's situation, naturaly. Please send up a special Prayer for these three, would you?
May God Bless you all and Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.

Jesus said: The Spirit Of The Lord Is Upon Me, Because He Has Anointed Me To Preach The Gospel To The Poor; He hath Sent me To Heal The Broken-Hearted, To Preach Deliverence To The Captives, And Recovering Of Sight To The Blind, To Set At Liberty Them That Are Bruised.
To Preach The Acceptable Year of The Lord. October 17 Mon.Living Water doing,
Good Evening Folks, I trust you all had a wonderful day, even though it was a monday. We had a pretty good day, my Paula had a doctor's appointment this morning, so she took a personal day from work, so after her appointment we went down to Lavaca, to visit her Mom(Jean), who had some lunch fixed for us when we got there, we ate then visited a while, then I went on over to Charleston to visit with my Mom and Dad, for a couple of hours. We really enjoyed visiting with them, I've got to start going more often, my Dad is remembering less and less, all the time, seems like. He has a lot of trouble remembering name's, even of his grandchildren. Some of them he just flat don't know. He'll be 86 on the 28th of this month, always been real healthy and real active, very few days has he been to sick, to go work at something; and he still works just about every day around the farm there.
When we got back home this evening, Paula and I went for a walk around the neighborhood, we need to do that every day, I do go quite often, but Paula has fallen out of the habit.
Welll, I guess I better quit. I will ask, once again, that you would remember to help us Pray for those on our Circle Of Prayer, prayer list, they need our Prayer's folks. Also remember to Pray for those members of The Circle, who dedicate their hearts and time to pray for others. And Please, would you Pray for my Mom and Dad; and Paula's Mom and Dad, they need Prayer also.
May God Bless each and every one of you; and Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
And Jesus said, concerning his return and the end of the world: "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you; and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
October 09 Sat.---Sun.Good afternoon Folks,
This is The Johnson Mountain Boys doing, "Shouting In The Air", enjoy.
Sat.
Wellll, as you've probably noticed, I didn't get anything posted, last night after we got back from the "Singing", it was pretty late and my brain wasn't working to good.
But we had a great time, first to Jack and LaRhonda's home, their home is beautiful, way out in the country, front yard nearly as big as a football field, with very nice flower and rock garden to greet you as you come into the house. Jack had grilled a bunch of ribs and chicken and LaRhonda had fixed all kinds of vegetables and had made a couple of cakes. Welll, what I'm trying to say is, they had a meal fit for a King and we all thouroughly enjoyed it, along with getting to visit with them and their two grandaughter's, Addison and Taylor. My little grandson, Eli, really took a shine to Taylor, in just a few minutes after we got there, they were sitting on the step down into the kitchen, he slid up real close to her, put his little arm around her and said, "This is my girlfriend Papaw". Aha! I tell you, I get so much joy from the little one's.
After while, it was time to go start getting ready for the Singing, so we went up to the Church, they had set up chairs outside, had a flatbed trailor for the stage. So we started in setting up the sound system and lights, wasn't long until we had it ready to go. The Singing went very well, very enjoyable. After it was over we took it all down, got it ready to go. Now they had snacks fixed in the Community Building, so most of the Group went in there, to fill up again. But Paula, Jody and I took that time to head out for home. Sunday School time comes pretty early, when you're late getting home, the night before.
Sun.
Wellll, we made it up and to Sunday School and Church this morning. We had a good service, had one Saved, so I would call it a great service. Bro Loy is back from Revival, I enjoyed hearing his message very much.
After Church, we and Lorne, Ritchie, Kassie, Jacob and Eli, met Ross and Misti at Colton's Steak house, for lunch, which was very good. Ross and Misti said that they had six people Saved at their morning service. Now that's what I call a really, really great service.
Well, its about time to start getting ready for this evenings church service, so I'm gonna quit for now, maybe more after we get back from church.
Well, we're back from church, and of course, we had another great service, no one Saved this time, but I don't think we had any lost one's there. After the service was over I pulled my Jimmy around to the basement side of the church and got Lorne to help me unload those big ole speakers, I didn't want to try it by myself again.
Lorne goes in, for his hernia surgery, in the morning. Ritchie is going to take him, he's supposed to be there at seven thirty. I will get there soon after, to stay with Ritchie until its over, then if everything is all right, she's going on to work; and I'll stay with Lorne until he gets to go home, then I'll drive him. You might say a little prayer for him, if you don't mind.
Welllll, I think I'll quit, probably bored you long enough anyway. I do ask that you remember our Prayer List and help us Pray for these, who are sick, lost or hurting.
Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
A HOME IS A HOUSE WITH A HEART INSIDE. October 07 Fri.Good Evening Folks,
Welll, the weekend is here, I trust you're all ready for it, I am. We've got a Cook-out and a Singing, tomorrow evening, down east of Mulberry, at one of my best friends in the world, Jack's, Church. Well, actually, the cook-out is at Jack's house and the Singing is at the Church. You talk about a Singing, now the folks in that area, really know how to Praise The Lord, they get into and appreciate the songs and they're not afraid to let you and the Lord know it. Some of the places we go to, you pert near have to stick them with a needle, to see if they're alive, kind of makes it hard on the singers, they don't know if they're enjoying it or not.
By the way, this is Living Water doing "Springtime In Heaven".
I got up this morning, read the paper with my coffee, then came in here, checked e-mail, then my Space, which didn't take long, last three days I haven't been getting but 20 to 30 hits a day, I guess I've made everyone mad at me or something, I had been getting, for the last 3 months, 150 to 225 hits a day, I kinda feel like I've been orphaned. But anyway, I decided I wanted to go over to the Block Plant, where I spent the last eighteen years of my working life, and visit with the guys there. Most of them I hired, while I was over the Plant; and they're almost like my son's, I love every one of them. I haven't been over to see them all summer, so we had some catching up to do. I gave and recieved a lot of hugs, as I went around to each ones work station. I don't have an excuse for being so long between visits, but one reason I haven't been during the summer, was the heat. It was hot just to step out the door of the house here, but you get over there in that plant, with all the electric motors, hydralic pumps, hot blocks just out of the kiln and the kilns themselves, the temp. goes way up, with nothing but some fans setting around here and there. But anyway, I really enjoyed my visit with them. You know it's bad of me , not to go visit more often, I live within sight of the plant, when the wind is right, I can hear the back-up alarms on the forklifts over there. I will go more often in the future, if I'm able.
This afternoon I worked on my boat motor, tryin to get it to start, it hasn't been started in over a year and thats hard on them, I still haven't gotten it to start either. But I will if I keep working on it.
Well, I'm gonna quit, Please help us Pray for our Prayer list, would you?
Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Jesus said: Ye have heard that it hath been said, "Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbor, And Hate Thine Enemy".
But I say unto you, "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which dispitefully use you, and persecute you."
October 06 Thurs.Living Water doing "Up Above The World So High"
Good Evening,
I trust that thursday has been good to you.
I don't know, for some reason, I've been feeling Down for the last couple of day's, thing is I have absolutely no reason to be Down. Guess a person doesn't have to have a reason, sometime's.
I went to Home Depot, this morning, and picked up some trim lumber, I've got another window shutter to put up in the kitchen window. I don't know just when I'll do it, but I like to have everything on hand, just in case the mood hit's me to do it.
This afternoon, I got me a great big ole chew of tobacco, then put a dip in there with it, you know, just for a little extra flavor, then I took off on a nice long walk. No hurry, just amblin along, thinking about this and that, thought a lot about MomApril's situation and wishing there was some way that I could help her. Thought about Michelle and the load that she's carrying. would like to be able to help her also. Then, there's all those people on our Prayer List----- I don't know, I just do what I can, Pray for them, and I realize, thats probably the Best Thing, that someone like me, can do.
Uuuuhhhh, about that chewing and dipping thing---I don't do that very often any more, now, a pouch of chewing and a can of dipping tobacco will last me two months, used to, when I was working and fishing a lot, I would use up about thirty dollars worth a week. I'm happy that I've cut it a way down, but I really enjoy a good chew once in awhile.
OK, I quit. But first, I want to ask you to remember our Prayer List, help us won't you?
Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Jesus said: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. October 05 Wed."Living Water" doing "What will it be like"
Welllllll, hump day is over, I trust it was a good one for you.
Not much to talk about tonight, I went to pick up Jacob and Bro Jess Walden, gave them a ride to Church and back home afterwards. We had a pretty good service, Bro. Calvin preached, Bro Loy has been gone to another Revival, over in Oklahoma, this time. He should be back by tomorrow.
I ask once again, for you to help us pray for those on our Prayer List.
Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Jesus said: Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye recieve them, and ye shall have them.
October 04 Tues.Good Evening Folks, Hope you've all had a good day.
I've had some asking me what and who, about the song's I have playing, so I'll start putting it in the post again. This is "Living Water", with my son Lorne doing the lead part.
Picture this: You're sitting in the hospital, your 34 year old son is being tested for Colon Cancer, Dr. comes out, Lorne(the son) is back with you now, he tells you that he has 3rd degree Colon Cancer; and they're not even gonna let him leave the hospital, before operating on him, they gave him a 50/50 chance of survival. So they put him in the hospital, had a privite room, which was good, because one of the first things Lorne asked for, was his guitar, he already had his Bible, carries it all the time, just a bout. You being his Mom and Dad, younger brother's Ross, and Jody turned to The Lord in Prayer for Lorne, to heal him, to leave him here to do HIS work. All the family, Church Family, friends, family in the phillipines, family in Australia, Praying. And Lorne is calm, sitting in his bed playing the guitar, singing gospel songs of Praise, to The Lord. The lady patient in the next room, asked the nurses to leave the doors open, so she could hear. All this time they're preping him for the surgery, took a couple of days to get his insides cleaned up, before they could operate. The only food he could have was some kind of predigested stuff, that smelled like vomit. I don't know how he could eat it, but he did. Finally they operate, seems like forever, Dr. comes out, tells us the surgery is a success, he thinks he got it all and he doesn't think its in the Lympthnodes yet, then the next day, after farther testing, they find it has gotten into the Lympthnodes. So he recouvers from the surgery, gets out of the hospital and starts Chemo and Radiation at the same time. The Chemo he takes 24 hours a day, through a port in his shoulder, carrying a dispenser pack around his waist. The Lord is with him continually, the Group "Living Water", still have Singings booked. When asked if he wanted to cancel, Lorne's answer was no. They did the Singings, even when he was so sick and so weak, that at times he had to lean on a chair to stay upright. That's when they started using this song,"There Is A God", to close their program. And Folk's, you could hear a pin drop, while they were singing this one. Now, last friday, three years later, they did a test, they found no cancer, the Dr declared him cancer free. They still use this song to close with and a lot of the time Lorne gives his testimony, just before singing it. So you see, this song has a very special meaning for me and for my family.
Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent, didn't I?
I didn't do to much today, seem's like I've been here at the computer all day. By the time I keep up with my e-mail and my Space here, try to visit a few of your places( I would like to visit each one every day), well it just takes me a lot of time, I guess I'm gonna have to hire a secretary. I told my Misti, a blond secretary, this morning.
I did get out to the bank, this morning and came back by the Church. I called Bro Jim when I got home, to see how they were doing, they had just got back from the VA Hospital, in Little Rock, they still don't know anything for sure, got to have more test. Pray that they find nothing.
That's about it for today, I had supper ready by the time my Paula got home.
I'm gonna close by asking you to remember our Prayer List, Folks we need all the help we can get, so please, take just a little time and help us, won't you?
Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
Jesus Said: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for MY sake, the same shall save it. October 02 Sun.Evening Ya'll,
Wellll, we're back from the reunion, I think everyone enjoyed it, we had plenty of food, the Group sang and played, lots of visiting went on and most of all, The Lords Presence was felt. Landen, my brother Roger's oldest son and Dobro player- singer in the Group, asked the Blessing on the food and on the reunion, in general.
Cousin Debbie did get to come by and visit with us, we really enjoyed having her and Uncle L.B. with us. Uncle Frank didn't get to make it, we missed him too.
After it was over, we and Lorne and Ritchie, Kassie, Eli, went to visit with my Paula's Mom(Jean), who lives a few miles east of Fort Smith, in a little town called Lavaca. We enjoyed visiting with her, it's been quite a while since we had seen her, course Paula talks to her on the phone every day. We got each of our Mother's a cell phone and Paula and I each have one. The cost is not to bad, as we got them on one of those Family Plans.
Welll, I'm gonna quit, I'm really tired, one of those tired's where your head gets swimmy, if you know what I mean. Ya'll please remember our Prayer List; and if you have a little time left over, please send up a little Prayer for the Scoggins Clan, We need and appreciate your Prayers.
May God Bless each of you. Lord willing, I'll see you tomorrow.
